The Lefay Resorts project was launched in 2006 as a result of the vision of the Italian entrapreneurs Alcide and Liliana Leali.
After graduating in Business Administration, Alcide Leali joined the family-owned business. In 1989 he founded together with his wife Liliana, who graduated in Architecture, the regional airline Air Dolomiti, with the aim of serving businessmen commuting from Northern Italy to the rest of Europe. The focus on the highest quality of onboard service and standards of efficiency turned Air Dolomiti into a major representative of the Italian Style worldwide as well as a benchmark case within the airline industry. After obtaining the most prestigious international awards, this successful experience ended in March 2003 with the acquisition by Lufthansa, after a decade of proactive collaboration.
In the following years, Alcide and Liliana Leali decided to face a new challenge and start a new entrepreneurial project without precedent – this time in a different service industry: hospitality. This led to the creation of the brand Lefay Resorts in 2006, with the aim of building a collection of eco-resorts based on a modern reinterpretation of the traditional notion of “luxury”, a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and a new innovative concept of global wellness.
In August 2008 Lefay Resorts opens the first Resort of the Collection: Lefay Resort & Spa Lago di Garda.
