WELLNESS ROUTINE TO REBALANCE YANG

June 25, 2026

In this particular year, with the arrival of the warmer season, it is essential to rebalance the inner heat associated with the “fire” element and Yang energy, while replenishing Yin – our deepest essence, which should remain strong and clear-minded. A guide for the Year of the Fire Horse.

Finding and maintaining your own “centre” is key during this period. Amid the pace of everyday life, we invite you to set aside even a small amount of time for yourself and your Yin, following the advice of our Lefay SPA experts. These simple habits can truly make a difference to our energetic balance.

Breathing exercises — we recommend practising yogic breathing, a pranayama technique combining abdominal, thoracic and clavicular breathing. It encourages deep, slow and mindful breathing, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.

Meridian stretching — this practice lengthens muscle fibres along the body’s energetic pathways, relaxes tendons and mobilises the joints, helping to release energetic and emotional blockages. If you are unfamiliar with this practice, here is a short practical guide. Alternatively, any form of stretching can help relieve the physical and mental tension accumulated throughout the day.

Cold-water applications — Refreshing the skin of the face, hands or wrists can help soothe internal heat. For the more adventurous, immersing the face in a bowl filled with ice water is particularly beneficial, especially in the morning. For the legs and the lower body, alternating foot baths in warm salted water followed by cold water or ice are recommended.

Listening to the sounds of nature — immerse yourself in the greenery or in whatever landscape surrounds you. Open your senses and listen to everything around you. If you are in the city, you might choose a park or recordings of therapeutic sounds. If you are near trees, embrace their trunks to establish a harmonious connection with the “wood” element.

Feeling the presence of water — whenever possible, choose walks near water in any of its forms: the sea, rivers, streams or lakes. Contact with water – the very substance from which we are made – can enhance our overall sense of wellbeing.
